Arcotec corona generators guarantee reliable and consistent surface activation of films and moulded parts made of plastic, metal as well as other substrates. In connection with our tailor-made treatment stations they create optimised solutions for any custom application.
All Arcotec HF corona generators are designed as semiconductor models, considerably increasing their degree of efficiency as compared to tube-based equipment. At the same time, the emitted stray radiation is reduced to the absolute minimum.
Thanks to their compact design our corona generators are suitably for nearly any fitting setup. The control system with its digital power display and intuitive operator panel on the device front is easy and secure. Alternatively you can configure the output remotely via a parent system using Ethernet and Profinet interfaces.

A powerful and robust generator is an indispensable component of any system for corona pretreatment. It is used to generate the high voltage applied to the substrate via the electrodes. The corona generated in the discharge zone breaks up the molecular chains of the nonpolar surfaces, improving the binding capacity of subsequent finishing layers.
Most commonly, thin substrates such as films, labels or material for tubes and cups are pretreated using this method, but corona activation is also possible for sheets and any type of moulded part.
Thin substrates are particularly sensitive to damage from fluctuating tension as this results in an irregular plasma with poor results for surface treatment. In a worst-case scenario, the substrate may even get damaged.
Arcotec corona generators help to prevent such problems. Thanks to their high-frequency clocking they generate a consistent high-voltage plasma. This also guarantees a consistent, damage-free activation of the substrate surface.
A powerful generator is an indispensable prerequisite to achieve reliable surface activation even at high treatment speeds. The high treatment speeds do not slow down the actual production process. This is another advantage of the corona pretreatment compared to wet chemical methods requiring additional time for drying.
