Our sheet station is used to pretreat individual sheets in a single run using highly efficient corona treatment, significantly improving the material’s wettability and extending the adhesion of dyes and glues.

Economical solution for sheet pretreatment

Our sheet station is a full-scale pretreatment system encompassing all the components necessary to corona-pretreat flat materials. After applying a sheet, the system automatically pulls it in and treats it with corona. Following surface activation, the sheet is placed on a stacker.

Easily pretreat sheet material

The surface of many materials has poor wettability when untreated. This applies not only to plastics such as polyolefins but also to metal, glass, ceramics and many types of paper.

About the sheet station functionality

Surface pretreatment is a method for considerably improving the adhesive strength on these materials. This can be achieved either by using aggressive chemicals or waste-free with a physical method.

Basically, all physical methods use a plasma, i.e., an activated gas mixture. In a corona system, this plasma is generated from a high-voltage discharge applied onto the substrate.

This type of pretreatment is most commonly used with films and moulded parts. Most corona systems are therefore tailored to the customer’s needs for this purpose.
